No, I definitely agree with you on the "evil" note. He and Gordon got into a fistfight, Kurtis roundhouse-kicked him to the floor, and put one foot on Gordon's head and ground it against the roof of Gordon's ship. It looked very painful, albeit very cool. Even though it was something I knew he wouldn't normally do, it was awesome to see. But...I mean, Kurtis abducted Jennifer and modified her in the game, but he never, ever held her hostage. That was all Carter. In the anime, he holds Etna and Flonne hostage and takes the time from Laharl's hesitation to beat him into the dirt with an angel weapon. It's too dirty a trick to be used by Kurtis. I don't like Kurtis's attitude in this anime.

I didn't think it was bad to have some of his hair going in different directions; I was just used to seeing it all go in one direction. I got used to it very quickly. But...the animation really ISN'T very good...for instance, Laharl's eyes will change size about four times throughout a scene, and his hair will be varying lengths. Overall they were very inconsistent, and this is just made more obvious by the sudden differences in Kurtis's hairstyle. It is definitely a little different from the game, even when it's all going in one direction, though. It's not really noticeable and he still looks good, so I'm not complaining.

Actually, his nose is varying lengths as well. There are some cases where it's very prominent, especially from side views, and then there are times when it's not nearly as prominent. It's definitely not hooked, but it does seem to be a little longer than it originally was. They really picked a single physical attribute from all of the characters and really emphasized it, like Laharl's scarf, for instance, or Jennifer's chest. They made certain body parts of certain characters a LOT more noticeable, and this, too, I think was a mistake, because sometimes Laharl's scarf is so distracting it takes away from the action.

In conclusion, Kurtis is still hot and it's the animators' fault for doing a rush job and making everyone inconsistent except for Thursday, who seems to be very much the same all the time. GO THURSDAY...his voice in Japanese is soooo cute <3

Hm... Still hot, eh? I guess I don't have to worry as much as before... Personally, since the inconsistency is VERY noticeable, I think the animators did do a poor job… The only excuse I could see for having the animation break away like that is in a fighting anime. And even then, they usually try to make it look good like all the others… I know it’s one style and all, but I think I find it all a bit awkward because I’m used to the game animation.

Laharl’s scarf has always been a beef with me because it almost swarms his whole character some times… It’s okay that he implements it into his fighting style but I think, already four episodes into the series, he relies on it a little too much… Er, I tend to be a stickler for the game so… You can just ignore that.

Honestly, I knew Kurtis would have a lot of trouble being adapted because of all the others… I’m glad you can get used to it easily, that was another one of my worries actually.

I think, due to the anime’s length, they wanted to show, right away, that Kurtis is against Gordon… However, they obviously aren’t portraying him well… I agree with you that some of those would/are pretty awesome but it’s strange because Kurtis is… well, Kurtis. Kurtis’ attitude is learning towards determined, devoted to his cause, and for the sake of good… But like I said, they probably wanted to make it look like he was another obstacle. If they bother to even mention Kurtis’ back story I’ll be very surprised… I also hope they won’t ruin it if they do. It is tragic, but Kurtis also uses that as a means of motivation to keep doing good… From what I’ve heard, I hope they just avoid it all together…

I heard they did, in fact, mention his backstory, but I haven't actually watched Episode 10 yet. I was going to, but I figured I'd better post the safeness comments first. I'll start now and wait for his backstory, and post my complaints/compliments on it when that part is over. The rest of the episode is nothing to me XP unless he dies...v_v
